Herb Crusted Chicken

I found this recipe on Dr. Mark Hyman’s 10 detox but I switched up a some stuff & added in nutritional yeast for extra crisp! This is so great & easy to make, ENJOY!

Ingredients:

  • two skinless chicken breasts

  • 1/2 cup macadamia nuts

  • 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • pinch of salt

  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast

  • dijon mustard

Instructions:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 375°.

  2. Prep the crumbs: nuts & seasonings go into a food processor until they get a breadcrumb like consistency. Add to a plate with the nutritional yeast after.

  3. Coat the chicken in dijon mustard. You can also do an egg wash if you prefer. Then dip the chicken in the nut/ yeast mixture until completely coated on both side.

  4. Starting with a cast iron skillet on the stove top, add oil to the pan & fry both sides of the breast for a few minutes.

  5. Finish in the oven, in the same pan until chicken reaches a temp of 165°…depending on the size of the breast, this should take about 10-12 minutes.
